Everton forward Richarlison has confirmed he turned down a possible move to Manchester United and FC Barcelona during the January window. The Brazilian had the chance to make a big money move during the winter, but that he wanted to stay on at Goodison Park to finish the season.
“There were lots of offers during the season, from Barcelona, from Manchester United”, Richarlison told during an interview. “But the club opted to keep me in the group and I didn’t want to leave in the middle of the season. It’s bad to leave team-mates like this.” Everton were reportedly holding on to a €125 million asking price for the former Watford forward.
It is unlikely that Manchester United will be back for the 23-year-old Brazil international as their focus seems to be on Borussia Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho. It is also unclear if FC Barcelona want to renew their interest in Richarlison. The Spanish giants are financially suffering from the coronavirus pandemic and the chances are Barcelona will not make a move on the summer transfer market this year.
