Internazionale are strong enough to reject any offer from FC Barcelona for Lautaro Martinez after the Italians have sold Mauro Icardi to Paris Saint-Germain last month, report Diario Sport. The Argentinian striker completed a permanent transfer to PSG last month in a deal worth €50m.
This fee has made Internazionale much stronger financially and this makes it possible for the Italians to reject any offer from Barcelona below Martinez’s €111m release clause. The Catalan giants can’t afford to activate the clause and have already tried to include several players into the transfer.
Meanwhile, Barcelona’s playing squad is already limited and it is unclear if the proposed players are open to a move to the Serie A. This makes it highly unlikely for Barcelona to make an official approach for the striker. It is believed that the striker is the number one transfer priority for the club this summer, with the club viewing he 22-year-old as the long-term successor to the ageing Luis Suarez.
