Bayern Munich could be saying goodbye to yet another loanee at the end of the season. The current Bundesliga champions had already decided not to activate their buy option for FC Barcelona‘s Phillipe Coutinho and, according to BILD, still has doubts about Internazionale winger Ivan Perisic.
Both players will return to their clubs on July 1st, though Der Rekordmeister is said to be keen on extending their stays beyond the German season and into the final stages of the Champions League in August. That way the duo will be available for Bayern in the final games of the season, the German Cup final against Bayer Leverkusen and the remaining games in the Champions League.
And it will be the club’s performances in the Champions League that will decide on the future of Perisic. The Croatia international has two years left on his contract at Internazionale and the Italians would like a fee around €30m for the winger. Also, Perisic’s wages are pressing heavily on Bayern’s wage budget and a successful campaign in the Champions League is needed for the club to gather enough fund to sign Perisic on a permanent deal.
