Kevin Kampl has signed a new three year contract at RB Leipzig despite interest from the Premier League. The midfielder has made 89 appearances for the club since joining them in 2017 and he admits he is happy to have extended his stay with the Bundesliga club.
“I am very happy about the contract extension. My family and I feel extremely comfortable here and Leipzig has become a second home for us. Despite my injury the club has always given me a clear signal that we want to go into the next years together. I am looking forward to the future with a lot of ambition”
Sporting director Markus Krosche is also happy to keep one of their experienced players on board. “Kevin is one of our leading players and a very important factor in the team – on and above all off the field. After his long injury break he has shown in the past few weeks how enormously important he is for our game and how much he embodies our game philosophy. So we are all the more pleased that we have been able to extend Kevin by two years ahead of time and thus have a long-term commitment to RB Leipzig.”
