According to Sport Bild, Thiago Alcantara has rejected a new contract offer from Bayern Munich. The Spaniards deal will run out at the end of the new season and Bayern were keen on extending the midfielder’s contract. It is believed that Thiago wants to switch to the Premier League, with Liverpool being his preferred choice.
Reds boss Jurgen Klopp recently commented he did not expect big signings during the summer, but a possible bargain in Thiago Alcantara may change his minds. With Naby Keite possibly heading towards the exit at Anfield, Klopp could be tempted to make a bid for the former FC Barcelona midfielder.
It is believed that Klopp is also an admirer of Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Ruben Neves, but seeing the Portuguese midfielder has a long-term contract Wolves will demand a large fee. Thiago could prove to be the cheaper option, one that Klopp would definitely would like to explore when it becomes reality.
