Thai-owned Premier League outfit Leicester City is closing in on a transfer for Nancy player Thanawat Suengchitthawon. The French-Thai midfielder, who spend his entire career with Nancy, will leave the Ligue 2 side in June when his youth contract expires. He will sign a three year contract with The Foxes.
Suengchitthawon confirmed in an interview with L’Est Républicain that the deal is close: “All that is missing is the medical and for me to sign my contract. I have already had contact with Leicester three seasons ago. But at the time, I did not really respond,” he added.
The midfielder is disappointed in his current employee, because they did not offer him a professional contract. Instead, they wanted to give him an additional youth deal to play with the reserves in the French 5th division. “Without a professional contract, that was something very difficult to accept.” said the 20-year old midfielder.
