According to Italian transfer specialist Gianluca Di Marzio, Internazionale are on the verge of completing the signing of Real Madrid defender Achraf Hakimi. It is claimed that the Italians will pay a fee around €40m for the right full-back, who is currently on loan at German side Borussia Dortmund.
It was expected Real Madrid would welcome the Moroccan international back in Madrid. The talented defender has made a very good impression playing for Dortmund in both the Bundesliga and Champions League. Despite his performances and development, Real have decided to sell Hakimi to the highest bidder.
Dortmund had also been linked to sign Hakimi on a permanent deal, but the Germans are not able to pay the required €40m. The 21-year-old Hakimi has already collected 22 caps for Morocco, including all three group matches at the 2018 World Cup. He has made 41 appearances for Dortmund, including a star performance in the Champions League against Inter (3-2), scoring twice.
