Matteo Guendouzi has told Arsenal‘s board that he is open to leave the club during the summer transfer window during a disciplinary meeting this week. Metro report that Guendouzi had to answer to the club’s board following his clash with Neal Maupay during Arsenal’s 2-1 defeat to Brighton Hove & Albion on Sunday.
After the game Guendouzi and Maupay had a bust-up, with the French midfielder grabbing the Brighton forward by the throat. Later on it was understood that Guendouzi called Brighton players ‘s***’ during the game and stating that his opponents will never earn as much money as he does.
Following his actions, Guendouzi was dropped by Mikel Arteta for Arsenal’s 2-0 win over Southampton on Thursday evening. And according to L’Equipe, Guendouzi has now told his club he wishes to leave the club at the end of the season. The report does claim that Guendouzi does not have a bad relationship with Arteta.
