Barcelona want Pep Guardiola if City’s Champions League ban is upheld

FC Barcelona are ready to make a stunning offer to bring back Pep Guardiola as their manager. The Spanish giants are monitoring the situation of Manchester City, who could be banned from Europe for the next two seasons. If the UEFA decides to uphold City’s ban, Barcelona are ready to step in, reports Express.

Guardiola will be entering his final contract year at Man City and it is unclear he the former Bayern Munich and Barcelona coach will be extending his stay at the Etihad Stadium beyond 2021. The Spanish boss was asked about his future after City lost 2-1 at Chelsea on Thursday and he refused to comment on his future beyond 2021.

With Guardiola not looking into the far future and with City’s ban looming above their heads, Barcelona are ready to step in if he becomes available. Guardiola won 14 trophies in 4 seasons with Barcelona, including the Champions League. And they feel it will be easier to persuade him to go back if he is faced with no European competition for two years if he remains with City.
