Klopp: A deal for Sancho would surprise me, but I know he’ll look good in Red

Jurgen Klopp says he would be surprised if Liverpool will try to sign Jadon Sancho this summer. The England winger’s future seems to be in the Premier League with Chelsea and Manchester United interested. Liverpool would also welcome a signing like Sancho, but Klopp admits he does not expect his club to make a move for the talented Borussia Dortmund winger.

“The red shirt [of Liverpool] would suit very well,” Klopp said in an interview with German newspaper Bild. “I don’t think such a transfer will be possible this season. He [Sancho] is a very interesting player. If he’s coming to Liverpool I would be the most surprised of all of us.”

Sancho could be on his way out of Germany as Dortmund’s head coach Lucien Favre stated that the winger could be one of the players that will leave during the summer. “Obviously players will go and we hope that they stay but it’s possible that they may also leave,” said Favre. The club values Sancho at €125m and they have already stated that there is no room for negotiating.
