Lionel Messi reaches yet another milestone in his career

Lionel Messi added another big milestone to his career on Saturday. While FC Barcelona failed to go past Celta de Vigo in the Spanish La Liga (2-2), Messi provided two assists for both goals scored by Luis Suarez. These assists have given him yet another milestone: 250 assists for FC Barcelona.

This unbelievable statistic shows that Messi is not only the great goalscorer, but also a player who always has an eye for a team mate. According to Opta, Messi has provided 179 assists for Barcelona in La Liga, while 71 assists are spread across different competitions including the Champions League.

And if that isn’t enough, Messi is now ready to claim yet another big milestone during his career. The 33-year-old has score 699 goals for both club and country and he could be scoring his 700th goal next Tuesday as Barcelona will face Atletico Madrid. For Barcelona Messi has scored 629 goals and provided 250 assists, which makes him the club’s all-time leading player for both goals and assists.
