AC Milan are considering to offer Zlatan Ibrahimovic a new deal for next season. The 38-year-old forward is currently out with a calf injury and his contract is set to expire after the Italian football season. AC Milan’s technical director Paulo Maldini admits that the club is looking at an extension.
Ibrahimovic rejoined Milan in January after his contract at LA Galaxy expired last year. He has featured in 10 games for the Rossoneri, netting 4 goals. The club is very happy with the presence of the Swede and would like to open talks for a one-year extension. It is unclear if the former Ajax, Juventus, Internazionale, FC Barcelona, AC Milan and Paris Saint-Germain forward wants to remain at Milan next season.
It will all depend on Milan’s performances in the Serie A and whether or not they will qualify for Europe. They are currently in seventh position on the table, a whopping 27 points behind league leaders Juventus. They are also 15 points adrift of fourth-placed Atalanta, the final position in the league to grant a spot in the Champions League.
