AC Milan are ready to offer Gianluigi Donnarumma a new bumper deal to keep him at the club for years to come. The 21-year-old Italian has been considered the most talented goalkeeper in the world with a move to the Premier League being suggested more than once. Milan’s technical director Paulo Maldini now suggests he wants to keep Donnarumma at all costs.
Since making his debut at the age of 16, Donnarumma has established himself as the undisputed number one at Milan. His future has always been a topic of discussion with clubs like Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester United and Chelsea being linked with the Italy international.
But Maldini admits his club will do everything to keep the goalkeeper at the San Siro. “It is certainly Milan’s duty to try and keep hold of an important player like Gigio, for what he represents as a symbol, a player who came up through our youth academy and, in my humble opinion, because he is the best goalkeeper in the world,” Maldini told DAZN.
