Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed that highly-rated Manchester United youngster Angel Gomes could be leaving the club this summer. The 19-year-old has yet to sign a contract extension and it looks likely that the England U19 forward will be leaving the club at the end of his term.
Gomes made his debut for the first team aged 16, becoming the youngest Manchester United player since Duncan Edwards to feature for the first team. The club was very keen on keeping Gomes, but the youngster has been rejecting United’s contract offers for several months. Solskjaer now expects Gomes to leave the club in July.
When asked if Gomes would be leaving the club, Solskjaer responded: “I’ve not heard from him last night or this morning so it seems like they haven’t managed to agree anything. The answer is probably short – yes:, as quoted by Sky Sports. Gomes has made two appearances in the Premier League this year and also played three games in the Europa League.
