Nathan Ake could leave AFC Bournemouth at the end of the season, reports David Ornstein. The Dutch central defender has attracted the interest of both Manchester City and Chelsea. It is reported that Man City have already been in talks with Ake, who would welcome a step towards the top of the Premier League.
“The Dutchman has been on their wanted list for some months now and City almost made a move for him in the January window”, writes Ornstein. “There have already been talks between City and the player’s management about a possible deal for this summer.” The 25-year-old Ake has a contract until the summer of 2022 at Bournemouth.
Bournemouth currently sit in 17th place on the Premier League table and are heavily fighting against relegation. They have collected 27 points, the same number as West Ham United and Aston Villa, who sit in 18th and 19th position. Chelsea are also interested in bringing back Ake. The Blues sold the defender in 2017 to Bournemouth and reportedly have a €45m buy-back clause.
