Paris Saint-Germain have confirmed that Layvin Kurzawa has signed a new multi year contract with the club. The France international has extended his expiring contract and will now be a PSG player for the next four seasons. The 27-year-old defender has been playing for PSG since 2015.
Five years ago the French giants paid €25m to AS Monaco to sign Kurzawa . Since joining the full-back has been a first team player, but he failed to develop into a regular starter. This season he has made 14 appearances in the French Ligue 1 and he has recorded 1 goal and 1 assist. Kurzawa has played 123 games (13 goals) for PSG in the five seasons he has been there.
Announcing his contract extension may has come as a surprise as it was long thought that the defender would be leaving the club on a free transfer. Especially after technical director Leonardo confirmed to Le Journal du Dimanche that Kurzawa was one of the players that would be leaving the club on a free transfer, along with Edinson Cavani, Thiago Silva, Thomas Meunier and Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting. Meunier signed for Borussia Dortmund last weekend, the future of the other players is still unknown.
