Manchester United will not pay more than €55m for Jadon Sancho, senior club officials have told Sky Sports. The 20-year-old England international wants to make a return to the Premier League next season, but his club Borussia Dortmund and United are still miles apart on their valuations. Dortmund wants at least €110m for Sancho.
The report from Sky Sports appear to be in line with the comments of Hans Joachim Watzke, sporting director at Dortmund. “I don’t think a club will pay the sum. There is also no coronavirus discount on him,” Watzke told Sport 1. United have not made an official approach for Sancho, who has 17 Bundesliga goals and 16 assists so far this season.
While United remain the big favourite to sign Sancho, numerous clubs will be able to join the list of admirers if the Red Devils fail to complete a deal this summer. Chelsea, Liverpool, Real Madrid, FC Barcelona and his former club Manchester City have all been linked with Sancho in the past.
