Matteo Guendouzi is set to be used as a transfer bargaining chip by Arsenal, reports the Daily Mail. The Frenchman’s future at Arsenal is in serious doubt after his recent behaviour and the Gunners are now keen on using him to facilitate a potential swap deal during the summer transfer window.
Guendouzi had a major bust up two weeks ago during Arsenal’s 2-1 loss at Brighton Hove & Albion. He had a collision with Bright forward Neal Maupay, who he grabbed by the throat after the game, while several opponents accused him of disrespect during the game. Guendouzi has not featured for Arsenal since their loss away at Brighton.
It is now believed that Arsenal are ready to offload the talented midfielder and will explore the possibilities to use him as a makeweight or even a full player swap deal. Recently FC Barcelona and Real Madrid were linked to the out-of-favour midfielder as two possible new destinations for the former FC Lorient man.
