Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has made Olympique Lyon captain Memphis Depay a transfer target for this summer, reports Le 10 Sport. The Spanish boss is looking for attacking reinforcements with Pierre Emerick Aubameyang possibly leaving the club and has now marked the Dutch international as a potential signing.
Depay’s contract at the Ligue 1 club will expire at the end of next season and the former Manchester United forward has expressed the desire make a ‘big move’. Meanwhile Lyon are still hoping to convince Depay to sign a contract extension that would keep him at Lyon beyond 2021.
The reports has claimed that Lyon are not planning to sit at the negotiating table with Arsenal before Depay has confirmed he wants to leave. If the Dutchman decides it is time to move on, Lyon could be asking a fee in the €45m to €60m range for Depay. The forward has been linked with a move to AC Milan in the past.
