Real Madrid could be missing out on Eduardo Camavinga this summer. The Spanish giants have been in awe of the young midfielder for quite some time and it has been suggested that Real would be exploring the possibilities of a summer transfer. However, technical director Florian Maurice hopes he can keep the young and talented midfielder at Stade Rennes.
Talking to RMC Sport he says: “There has been no talk of a departure and there has not been any real interest. I have been clear since my arrival that Camavinga will be part of my project at this club. If Real Madrid will offer us the €85m that is mentioned in the media we will have a clear answer for them: ‘No’. We want him to stay at the club and continue developing his abilities.”
“It is clear to me that this boy should be part of the upcoming season project”, Maurice continues. “We want to keep going with him. That is important for himself too. He is a really good boy and a great player. These are conversations that we should have together. For our part, there is no intention of letting him go. “
Maurice, however, knows how the football world works and that a transfer could always happen. “It is worth mentioning that the player has the ambition, and perhaps also the desire, to go somewhere else. I will listen to him, but he has a contract and we will see how the transfer period will turn out. “
