Valencia owner Peter Lim wants to sell the club and has instructed prolific agent Jorge Mendes to find a suitable buyer. Local radio station Radio Taronja report that sources close to the owner have confirmed that he will be looking to sell the club. It has also been reported that there have been three separate approaches already for the club.
Singabore billionaire Peter Lim bought Valencia in 2014 and promised the fans he would bring the club back to the top of La Liga and into the Champions League. While the club appeared to have found its way back up the league table – finishing fourth in consecutive seasons – the club currently is in 10th place and recently sacked their second manager of the season.
Fans have been growing unhappy with Lim as he continues to reign with brute force. Not only did he decide to sack fan favourite Marcelino at the start of the season, he also appointed Albert Celades, who the fans did not want installed. Last week Lim decided to sack Celades and not long after renowned sporting director Mateu Alemany also decided to leave his post.
With fan unrest increasing, it is believed that Lim has decided to sell Valencia. The report from Radio Taronja claims that three individuals have requested more information on a possible take-over. All three are unnamed but are said to be a former club playing legend, a former manager and previous president of Los Che.
