Martin Odegaard‘s development at Real Sociedad have made them favourites to land Real Madrid‘s next wonderkid Takefusa Kubo next season, reports Diario AS. Sociedad has the Norwegian on loan this season and Madrid have been impressed with the development of the young attacking midfielder, that they are now considering to send Kubo on loan as well.
The Japanese teenager is currently enjoying a season-long loan deal at Real Mallorca, scoring three goals across 31 appearances – including 15 starts and Madrid feel Sociedad would be the ideal environment for Kubo to develop even further. Mallorca would also love to keep Kubo next season, but their relegation battle makes a new loan unlikely.
Kubo spent a total of four years in FC Barcelona‘s youth academy but was forced to leave the club after the Blaugrana were sanctioned for signing underage players illegally. He returned to Japan, signing for FC Tokyo. After he turned 18 Kubo then returned to Spain, signing a multi-year deal with Real Madrid.
