With Arjen Robben returning to professional football at FC Groningen next season, Chelsea could be signing on a ‘Robben’ themselves. German outlet Spox has reported that 1899 Hoffenheim youngster Nick Breitenbucher has appeared on the radar of the Blues and the youngster has earned the nickname ‘Arjen Robben’.
The young winger has enjoyed a good season in the youth Bundesliga and that has attracted the interest of several larger teams. Schalke 04 already had an offer turned down in January, but now it seems that Chelsea are interested to sign the 17-year-old this summer.
Breitenbücher has been compared with Robben in the past and it is even stated he is ‘quicker’ than the former Bayern Munich super star. While the 17-year-old is a natural left winger, he feels a lot more comfortable on the right side, just like Arjen Robben. It then may be possible that Chelsea will sign a new ‘Robben’ ever since the Dutch winger left Chelsea to join Real Madrid in 2007.
