Chelsea is currently preparing a bid for Bayer Leverkusen star Kai Havertz, reports One Football. The Blues will submit an official offer for the German international after Saturday’s DFB Pokal final between Bayer Leverkusen and Bayern Munich.
Havertz is considered as one of the biggest talents in Europe and the 21-year-old has attracted the interest of several big teams, including Bayern Munich and Real Madrid. It is, however, Chelsea who look to be the first club to make an official approach for Havertz. Leverkusen are reportedly looking for a fee in the €100m range for their star midfielder.
Chelsea have already been active this summer, signing Hakim Ziyech from Ajax and Timo Werner from RB Leipzig. The two new signings have cost the Blues around €100m already. Despite their summer spending, Chelsea are keen on adding more quality to their squad as they are looking to challenge Liverpool and Manchester City for the title next season.
