Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has held contract talks with Arsenal in recent days, claims ESPN. The Gabon striker has told the Gunners he wants a three-year contract and a wage hike that will bring him to a €275.000-a-week salary. It is also believed that Aubameyang has told the club he is keen on staying in the Premier League at Arsenal.
This news is another positive signal for Arsenal after the club confirmed new long-term contracts for Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli. Next in line is Aubameyang, whose future at the Emirates was in serious doubt. The Gunners even considered selling their star forward if they would fail to extend his contract beyond the summer of 2021.
But with Aubameyang stating he wants to stay at the club, Arsenal will now be able to continue the negotiations for a new contract in order to keep their leading forward. The Gabon international has been in good form for the Gunners this season, being the top scorer of the Premier League with 19 goals.
