Chelsea have re-opened contract talks with their star winger Willian. The 31-year-old winger has an expiring contract at Stamford Bridge and after he rejected Chelsea’s latest offer it was expected he would leave the club on a transfer. However, the Blues are keen on keeping Willian at the club and therefore have decided to re-open talks.
Willian recently rejected Chelsea’s two-year offer, making it publicly known he wants to sign a three-year deal. However, it is against Chelsea’s policies to offer a player over 30 a three-year deal. If Willian decides to leave Chelsea he has already stated he wants to stay in England, preferably with a big team in Londen.
Chelsea are aware that both Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Willian, with Spurs being the most likely candidate to sign the winger as Jose Mourinho has a strong relationship with the Brazil international. Frank Lampard is keen on keeping Willian away from his rivals and has asked the Chelsea board to re-open contract talks.
