Eden Hazard will not feature for Real Madrid on Subday. Zinedine Zidane has left the Belgian winger out of Real Madrid’s match squad for their meeting with Athletic Bilbao. Hazard is now set to miss his 25th game of the season.
The €100m signing from Chelsea has been struggling with injuries all season and has failed to live up to the expectations after his move from The Blues. Hazard missed Real’s first games of the season due to a hamstring injury and suffered an injury to his foot towards the end of 2019.
Last week Real played away at Espanyol and despite playing an hour, Hazard suffered a series of hard challenges which have kept him from training this week. “Eden felt some pain in the past fee days. We don’t want to take any risks with him”, Zidane told reporters during a press conference on Saturday.
”He isn’t happy at the moment because he is unable to help his teammates. We want him in the team when he is a 100 per cent fit. Let us hope he will be play for us again soon.” France international Raphael Varana has also been left out of the squad by Zidane.
