After a series of bad results in the Spanish La Liga, Quique Setien is under heavy pressure at FC Barcelona. The Spaniard, however, says he does not fear for his job and will continue to do his job as normal despite rumours of Barcelona overthinking the coach’s future at the Nou Camp.
“I have been in this situation before, I don’t have control over it. It is the circus we are in,” said Setién on Saturdayahead of to the game with Villarreal on Sunday. “I know there are rumors, but I focus on my work. I also don’t think about what’s going to happen to me.” The 61-year-old also does not feel Barcelona are going through a crisis but a series of unlucky games.
“If you look at the results in matches, you can say that we have missed points, but the level of my team and their performance was good,” he says. “Sometimes we didn’t deserve to lose points and there were circumstances we couldn’t control. But we’ll keep fighting.” After three draws in four games Barcelona look to have lost the title race to Real Madrid, who currently hold a four point lead.
