James Rodriguez looks to be on his way out of the exit at Real Madrid. ESPN report that the Colombian midfielder has asked his club to allow him to make a move this summer. Marca claim that their are many interested clubs in signing James on a bargain deal this summer. Four clubs from the Premier League are reportedly interested.
Earlier reports suggested that Real Madrid rejected a move to Atletico Madrid last summer, while Italian side Napoli had also shown interest. This year James’ destination looks to be in the Premier League, with four teams interested in signing the attacking midfielder.
The report from Marca claims that Everton, Arsenal, Manchester United and Wolverhampton Wanderers are all keen on bringing the former FC Porto and AS Monaco midfielder to the Premier League next season. James’ deal will run out in 2021, making him a possible bargain buy this summer.
Only problem could be the midfielder’s wage demands. He currently earns around €10m-a-year at Real Madrid and it is believed he is not willing to lower his demands to anything below €7m-a-year. That is a figure that will put more prudent clubs out of the race this summer.
