James Rodriguez was left out of Real Madrid‘s squad for their La Liga meeting with Athletic Bilbao (1-0 win) and after the game Real boss Zinedine Zidane has claimed that the Colombian requested to be left out of the team. This has increased rumours on the midfielder’s future.
“He wanted to be left out because of his own reasons,” Zidane told the media after a victory. “The reasons are between us and I’m not going to tell you any more.” James has been looking for a way out of Madrid since the start of the season. The midfielder even claimed Madrid blocked a move to city rivals Atletico Madrid.
With James out of Madrid’s squad, it seems even more likely that he will be leaving the club this summer. The former FC Porto and AS Monaco man has been linked with a move to the Premier League. Everton, Arsenal and Wolverhampton Wanderers have all been put forward as possible destinations.
