Bournemouth drop Ake asking price due to coronacrisis pandemic

AFC Bournemouth are ready to lower their asking price for Nathan Ake. The former Chelsea academy player has been linked with moves to the entire top four of the Premier League in recent months and it was believed Bournemouth was holding out for a €80m asking price. Reports from England now claim that the Cherries have dropped their asking price with a massive 50%.

Bournemouth have been fighting against relegation this season and could drop down to the Championship next season. Despite their low position on the league table, Bournemouth are suffering under the coronacrisis pandemic. The club has been missing out on revenue income and has concluded that a major part of the player wages will need to be cut if the club were to survive beyond the pandemic.

Reports claim that Bournemouth are actively looking to sell their top earners: Nathan Ake and Josh King. By selling their two top players, Bournemouth hope to boost their financial situation. Manchester City, Chelsea and Manchester United are all keen on Ake and could be tempted to make a €40m offer for the Dutch international.
