Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has been convinced by midfielder Dani Caballos and the Spanish boss now wants to make his stay in London permanent. Ceballos is on loan from Real Madrid and under normal circumstances he will be returning to his home nation next season. However, Arteta has been impressed by Ceballos in recent weeks and now wants the midfielder to stay on next season.
“I am really happy with him, and he puts passion into every game and training session,” Arteta stated in an interview with The Independent. “He is evolving, and wants to become an important player for the club. We are talking with Real Madrid, as obviously we do not own the player. The two clubs need to communicate, and we will see what we can do.”
Real Madrid would be keen on selling Ceballos this summer, as the Spaniards hope to boost their transfer budgets for the summer window. It is believed that they could be demanding up to €40m for Ceballos, a number that could be just outside of Arsenal’s budget. It is believed that Arsenal are aiming to bring the price down to €30m.
