FC Barcelona do not want to sell Antoine Griezmann this summer, states Florent Torchut, a journalist working for L’Equipe and France Football. He claims that the meeting between Griezman, his management and the FC Barcelona board has went well and that the French forward will remain a Barcelona player next season.
Griezman is having a troublesome first season at the Nou Camp after arriving from Atletico Madrid in a transfer worth €125m. The French forward has been struggling with his form, especially when he is lined up in a three-man attack with Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez. Griezmann has scored 15 goals in 44 games this season.
Barcelona boss Quique Setien even stated that Griezman destabilised his squad and therefore placed him on the bench in their 2-2 draw with Atletico Madrid last week. The Frenchman was angry about his role in the match against his former employer and asked for a meeting.
It is now believed that the meeting has gone very well and that Griezmann has been convinced of the club’s intentions for next season. The club stated the forward is an important player for the first team and that they have no intention of selling him this summer.
