Napoli director of sport Cristiano Giuntoli has confirmed that Arkadiusz Milik will be sold this summer as the Polish striker refuses to extend his contract beyond 2021. The former Ajax striker has been at Napoli for four seasons and it is believed he is looking for a new challenge in his career. Giuntoli has confirmed that negotiations for a new deal have been stalled.
Talking about a possible transfer to Juventus, the director said: “As far as I know, there is no Juventus interest in Milik, but I wouldn’t be surprised if there was, because he is a very talented forward. He has not renewed his contract, so it’s no shock that there are many big clubs who would like to have him.”
Several clubs have shown interest in Milik over the past few weeks. From England Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur have been linked, while the Poland international could also make a move to Atletico Madrid. It is believed that Napoli are ready to make a deal around €40m, whilst it has also been suggested that Napoli is open for a player swap deal.
