Chelsea midfielder Jorginho will play a massive part in the Blues hunt for Bayer Leverkusen starlet Kai Havertz. The Italian international has been linked with a move to Juventus and Chelsea will need to sell the playmaker in order to generate the funds that are needed to match Bayer Leverkusen’s transfer demands for Havertz.
According to the Daily Mirror, Juventus coach Maurizio Sarri would like to reunite with the midfielder he signed for Chelsea two seasons ago. The Blues are on their part open to sell the midfielder as Frank Lampard has been ignoring Jorginho since the restart of the Premier League in June. It is believed that Chelsea would ask around €50m for the former Napoli midfielder.
After spending big on Timo Werner (64m) and Hakim Ziyech (40m), Chelsea are looking to generate extra funds this summer. The Blues are very keen on signing Havertz this season, especially as other clubs aren’t able to sign the midfielder due to the financial impact of the coronavirus pandemic. Clubs like Real Madrid and Bayern Munich have already cooled their interest in Havertz this summer.
