Kai Havertz has the qualities to play for Real Madrid, says former Germany striker Oliver Bierhoff. The 52-year-old is the current technical director at the German football association and he thinks that leaving the Bundesliga will benefit the midfielder’s development. And if Havertz decides to leave Germany, Bierhoff hopes he will join Real Madrid at some point.
“He is a player for Real Madrid,” Bierhoff told Marca. “He is a young player who has everything: great talent, technique, good physique. He is a very complete player and he will be very important for us [the German national team].” Real Madrid, however, will not be making a move for Havertz this summer due to the financial impact of the coronacrisis.
The Bayer Leverkusen star has appeared on the radar of Chelsea and it is believed that the Blues are ready to make a smashing €100m offer for Havertz. While Bierhoff does not want to suggest a club for the youngster, he does advise him to move abroad. “I played almost my entire career outside of Germany and I think it’s a good thing to leave. You grow as a person. You become stronger, more mature, develop further.”
