Mauricio Pochettino is close on confirming a return to the Premier League next season. According to Spanish journalist Miguel Rico, the former Tottenham Hotspur manager has been negotiating with Newcastle United and will be appointed as the new Magpies boss once the takeover of the club is finalised.

The 48-year-old was sacked by Tottenham at the start of 2020 and he has been holding off moves to clubs all over Europe, including Benfica. It is believed that Pochettino wants to make a return to the Premier League and is keen on joining Newcastle once the club takeover has been completed,

The Magpies are in the middle of negotiations for a takeover with an investor from Saudi Arabia and its expected that the new owners will be investing heavily into the playing squad. The report claims that Pochettino will be given a next to unlimited budget to invest in the squad in order for the club to develop into a title contender.
