Paris Saint-Germain were drawn against Italian sensation Atalanta Bergamo in the quarter finals of the Champions League on Friday. The German coach expects his PSG side to have a tough battle against the Italians, but also insisted that the French giants are aiming to win this season’s Champions League.
“Atalanta are a spectacular team,” Tuchel told UEFA.com. “They press hard and score a lot of goals. We must be ready and play cautiously. We’re in the quarter-finals and we are here to win it.” Both teams will face each other in August during a short 8 team tournament in Lisbon.
Gian Piero Gasperini’s side have been impressing all season in both the Champions League and the Serie A. Whilst the Italians made their debut in the European tournament, they managed to stun Valencia in the round of 16 (8-4 on aggregate). In the Serie A Atalanta are currently in third place, just 9 points behind Juventus.
