FC Barcelona will not be pursuing Neymar this summer. The Catalan giants have been hoping to resign the Brazilian winger since last summer and were expecting to sign him after this season. Due to the coronavirus pandemic and the effect it has had on the club’s finances, Barcelona have decided not to make a move for Neymar.
According to a report in Marca, Barcelona’s board has held a meeting with the team this week, asking them to stop fueling rumours by answering questions from the press related to Neymar. In recent weeks several players, including Lionel Messi, openly talked about a possible return of the Paris Saint-German forward.
However, Barcelona will not be able to meet PSG’s demands to sign Neymar this summer. The French giants are reluctant to let their star forward leave, but are aware of the Brazilian’s wishes to return to Spain. As of now, PSG are believed to be open to sell Neymar back to Barcelona, but only if the Spanish giants pay at least €180m.
