Manchester City are considering to offer Sergio Aguero a new contract that will keep him at the club until 2022. The Daily Mirror reports that City are keen on keeping the Argentinian striker on board for at least another season. Aguero’s current deal runs out in the summer of 2020.
Despite the former Atletico Madrid forward being sidelined due to an injury once again, he remains Pep Guardiola‘s first choice striker. His replacement Gabriel Jesus has yet to convince the Spaniard he is good enough to fully replace Aguero as their first choice striker once the club topscorer has left the club.
It was expected that Aguero will move back to his homeland once his contract at Man City expires, with his boyhood club Independiente being the favourite to land the 32-year-old on a free transfer. But, it now seems that the Argentinian giants will have to wait at least a season longer to welcome back Aguero to the club.
