Eden Hazard is set to shine for Real Madrid next season, expects Belgium boss Roberto Martinez. The Belgian winger was signed from Chelsea last summer and has experienced a difficult first season in Madrid. Hazard missed plenty of games due to injuries, restricting him from making more than 20 appearances in all competitions.
Despite his injury problems, Martinez expects Hazard will be able to reach his full potential next season. “I’m making a very positive assessment because you have to measure a player in good times and also in bad times. This year has been the most difficult moment in Eden’s career because he has never missed as many games as this.”
“Hazard has shown Real Madrid that he is a star player to create a project around for the future and that he is going to bring a lot of success [to the club and the supporters]. The fact that La Liga has been delayed has been a great advantage for Eden to be able to play again before the end of the season. He is now fully prepared both physically and mentally to take this project forward.”
