PSG fear to lose Neymar on a free transfer and could speed up transfer

Neymar is believed to be desperate to leave Paris Saint-Germain this summer to return to his former club FC Barcelona. While the French giants are reluctant to sell the Brazilian forward, reports from Spain claim that the Parisians are fearing that Neymar will be leaving the club on a free transfer and that a transfer could be completed as soon as this summer.

The 28-year-old Neymar is very keen on linking up with his former teammates at Barcelona and has told PSG and the players in Paris that he wants to leave. However, Barcelona are suffering from the corona virus pandemic and aren’t able to pay PSG’s demanded €200m for the winger.

It was reported that Barcelona had cooled their interest in Neymar. But according to Mundo Deportivo PSG have started to realise that they will not be able to keep Neymar beyond his current contract. His deal will run out in 2022 and to make no return on a player they paid €225m for would be disastrous, meaning the French giants have changed their mind.

According to the report PSG are now open to restart negotiations with Barcelona and that the club is now open for different solutions. A loan spell for one or two seasons with an obligated buy clause is an option or allowing Barcelona to spread payments over several years has also been opted. Either way, a summer transfer of Neymar has become much more realistic.
