Mikel Arteta is confident that Arsenal is still able to attract the best players in the world despite them not being in the Champions League. The Gunners have not been in the Champions League for the past three seasons and they will be missing out on the European tournament again next season.
Meanwhile, Arsenal could be missing out on European football all together next season as the club currently sits in ninth place on the Premier League tabel, four points behind Sheffield United. With only nine points left for grabs and with Liverpool as opponents on Wednesday, chances for Arsenal to reach European football have slimmed down dramatically.
The Gunners could still manage to qualify for the Europa League through the FA Cup, but with a motivated Manchester City as their opponents, that is also looking like an unlikely option. With Arsenal potentially missing out on European football next season, it has led to concerns from fans that the club will not be able to land their top summer transfer targets.
But Arteta insists that this is not the case”We’ve an incredible history, an incredible structure, in a beautiful city and a style of play that attracts players. I’m telling you now because when I am closer to the market now when I speak to people, a lot of players want to play for Arsenal.”
