Jerome Boateng will reportedly stay at Bayern Munich for the coming season. According to Kicker the 31-year-old defender would probably want to see out his contract which is set to expire in the summer of 2021. Boateng made a return to Bayern’s first eleven this past season, playing a pivotal role in their Bundesliga championship.
Over the past two years Boateng has been linked with moves away from Bayern Munich. In 2018 he was close to joining Paris Saint-Germain and a year later he held talks with Manchester United and Juventus. While Bayern are open to sell Boateng this summer, it is expected that the defender will be staying at the Allianz Arena.
Boateng returned to the team under Hansi Flick this season after he was dropped by former coach Niko Kovac for Niklas Sule. However, after Sule suffered a serious knee-injury in November Boateng formed a strong partnership with David Alaba in the heart of defense during the second half of the season.
