Zidane responds angrily to Bale questions: ‘You always try to put things between us’

Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane has insisted that there are no issues between him and Gareth Bale or James Rodriguez. The French manager reacted angrily on questions from several reporters ahead of Madrid’s Villarreal clash on Thursday. Zidane is fed-up with the questions on both Bale and James while Madrid could be claiming their first La Liga title since 2017.

“The question about Gareth again! We are interested in the game, just like Gareth is,” Zidane told his pre-match press conference, as cited by Marca. “You (the press) are always trying to put things between us but you will not succeed. You can keep asking the same thing but we are all united here: me, Bale, James (Rodriguez), everyone – all of us want the same thing.”

Over the past week Bale has been in the headlines for his ‘unprofessional behaviour’ while sitting on the bench. The Welsh winger has only scored one goal this season and he has been an unused substitute for five successive games. James has not played for Madrid since October and has been kept from Madrid’s squad for the past few games.
