Mundo Deportivo report that FC Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu has requested a meeting with first team manager Quique Setien. The report claims that Bartomeu wants to find out how the head coach and first team are feeling after missing out on the La Liga title to Real Madrid.
It is also stated that the president wants to talk about Barcelona’s upcoming Champions League campaign. The Spanish giants will host Napoli in their round of 16 second leg match on August 8 and it is believed that Bartomeu wants to discuss Setien’s strategy for the upcoming match and possible further matches in the Champions League.
With the board summoning Setien to discuss the short-term future, it was rumoured that Barcelona would be ready to sack the manager. However, the report claims that Setien will still be the manager of the club when Barcelona resume their Champions League campaign against Napoli on August 8.
