Real Madrid president: ‘Sergio Ramos will end his career at this club’

Florentino Perez is certain Sergio Ramos will end his career at Real Madrid. The Spanish giants secured their 34th La Liga title after a 2-0 win over Villarreal. Club captain Ramos has been influential for the team throughout the campaign, scoring five goals in the last ten games.

The 34-year-old will be out of contract at the end of next season, but Perez is sure he will sign a new deal. “Ramos will surely end his career at Madrid,” Perez told Movistar. “Although there is talk of that, it will not change, everyone is calm. He is more than a captain. He has led the team with enormous leadership.”

Perez also hailed the performances of Zinedine Zidane: “He has won a title every 19 games,” he said. “It is a blessing from heaven and that he is with us for a long time. They criticise him for what they want. We will continue to win titles.” After securing the title, Madrid will be focusing on winning the Champions League. Zidane’s side will be resuming the tournament in August with a second leg match against Manchester City.
