Philippe Coutinho is reportedly close to securing a year long loan at Arsenal, Sunset reports on Friday. The FC Barcelona midfielder’s agent Kia Joorabchian has traveled to England to negotiate terms for Coutinho and it is expected that the loan deal will be finalised at the start of next week.
Coutinho joined Barcelona from Liverpool and has failed to prove himself at the Camp Nou during his first 18 months. The Spanish giants then decided to send Coutinho on loan to Bayern Munich, hoping that the German giants would use an option-to-buy clause after the season ended.
However, the German champions decided not to activate the clause and they are ready to send the Brazilian back to Barcelona. The 28-year-old has now set his sight on a move to the Premier League. Newcastle United is also interested in signing Coutinho on loan, but the midfielder is preferring a move to Arsenal instead.
