Despite a 3-0 lead against Chelsea, Leon Goretzka feels the match-up in the round of 16 of the Champions League is not over yet. The German midfielder has warned his team-mates for the qualities of the Blues and points out that Chelsea will have less time between the end of their league and the return of the Champions League in August.
“We’ve already had a great season, winning the championship and the cup. All our focus in on the game against Chelsea,” Goretzka told Bild am Sonntag. “The good thing about such top opponents is that they have as much respect for us as we do for them. Chelsea has the advantage that they are traveling to Munich just after the season, while we want to keep up our rhythm.”
“We will do everything to make sure Chelsea will not be successful again in Munich.” Bayern completed the season on July 4 when they beat Bayer Leverkusen in the final of the DFB Pokal. Meanwhile Chelsea will play their final league game on July 26 and could potentially play the FA Cup final on August 1.
