Manchester City have opened up talks with Brazilian side Gremio to sign young midfielder Diego Rosa. The 17-year-old was one of the stars of the U17 World Cup last summer and scouts of Manchester City have been impressed with the performances of Rosa. The Daily Mail claims the clubs are nearing an agreement on a €5m deal.
Rosa will be turning 18 in October and he will have to wait until January before he can complete his move to Man City. The report also claims that City are ready to add several clauses into the deal which could rise to €15m while Gremio are still keen on adding a sell on percentage.
The young Brazilian is not the only South American youngster who is being followed by City this summer. The club also has interested in 18-year old Uruguayan winger Facundo Pellistri who plays in the first team for Diego Forlan’s Penarol. The youngster, who is valued at €12m, has already attracted the interest of several other Premier League sides, including Manchester United, Chelsea and Newcastle United.
